It all started when…

George Zadrozny, owner and president of GeoCon Skateparks  (GeoCon Engineering, Inc), has been in the building industry for over 40 years. Licensed as a general contractor since 1987, George has an extensive background in custom home building and commercial concrete construction. Beginning in 2000, George “rescued” a skate park project that nearly resulted in a disaster for the owner and thus began his love of mixing custom designs with complicated engineered concrete designs for skaters. As George puts it, “Anyone can pour concrete, we make make it stand up and dance.”

George has since contracted and built dozens of parks with nearly every imaginable design option known to the skating world today. His projects include the largest concrete BMX only park in the United States, Mosqueda BMX Bike Park. Its 30,000 square feet of exciting elements include the largest cradle ever built, 20 feet tall, and an enormous extension wall, 18 feet high and 40 feet long. Georges’ commercial background building parking structures and tilt ups, among other large public works projects, was essential to correctly producing these features.

Smooth concrete finishes and perfect shotcrete transitions are the hallmark of a great skate park and George has developed these skills and received his Shotcrete Nozzleman certification from the ACI in 2009. In addition, GeoCon’s dedicated crew are nearly all passionate skaters in their own right and insure that every element flows smoothly with the end user, the skater, always the priority.

George has several skate park designers that he works closely with to perfect a design-build process and all the required engineering and plans and specifications needed. Georges’ hands-on approach to the construction of skate parks ensures the quality of the finished product that every skater demands and needs.
